Native plants are those plants that have naturally evolved in a specific region's ecosystem. These are plants that were growing naturally in the area before humans introduced plants from distant places. Native plants are naturally adapted to their specific region, so they require no special care, including irrigation or fertilization, to thrive. They are pest resistant and disease resistant, and are truly low-maintenance gardening and landscaping plants.

If you're intimated by the very notion of gardening, take a deep breath and relax: it's easier than it looks. This month I'm going to be highlighting videos, tips, and advice from a city girl who used to have a thumb that was anything but green: Patti Moreno, aka, The Garden Girl. I'll be interviewing Patti about gardening ideas later this month. For now, find out how this city girl got her gardening start by watching this video.
If you want to register with Macy's for your espresso machine, but also want to register at Etsy for some original art then I have good news for you. You can fit a variety of items on your registry, pulled from a variety of stores, boutiques, and individual artists or craftspeople, or services on the site MyRegisty.
I'm actually registered at this service, and it's very easy to navigate. Simply install the "Add to MyRegistry" button on your toolbar, much as you would the "Save to TeamSugar" button, and whenever you find an item you'd like to add to your registry, click on the button in your toolbar, add the name, quantity, and price of that item, and the item is saved to your registry. Guests can search for registered couples by name, just as they would on any other online registry. Easy, convenient, and flexible — what's not to love? Source
According to Real Estalker, the lovely and talented Reese Witherspoon has shown off her good taste once again — this time by buying a gorgeous four-bedroom, three-bath home in Ojai, just an hour and a half outside of LA. The home, which was listed for $6.95 million, was designed by famed Southern California architect Wallace Neff, who was known for his Spanish colonial-revival house designs. The house was previously owned by textile designer Kathryn Ireland, whose home we featured in this coveted crib post. The property features equestrian facilities, and is located on over six acres. Sounds like a perfect place for her kids Deacon and Ava to raise their piglet, and once boyfriend Jake Gyllenhaal heals up, he'll find some good bike opportunities in the area as well.
