I used to swear up and down that I would never put cute little statues of gnomes or other imaginary creatures in my garden beds. It just seemed too kitschy to me. But then, after only one season of gardening, I gave in. There was a plastic dinosaur in my strawberry patch, a buddha head in my rose bushes, and this adorable wooden koi fish in my vegetables. So what happened? Well, no one can accuse my garden design of being spare and modern. I guess in the end, I'm just a sucker for cute imaginary creatures. Oh well.

How about you? Do you put statuary in your garden? Tell me all about it in the comments.
Maybe it's due to a pregnancy-related nesting instinct, but Nicole Kidman and husband Keith Urban are taking advantage of the soft real estate market. In fact, according to a number of sources, the couple has recently bought not one, but two new homes — one in Los Angeles and one in Nashville.

The couple's new West Coast property is down the street from ex-husband Tom Cruise, but more importantly, it's also close to Kidman's BFF Naomi Watts. The $7 million home features five bedrooms, four and a half baths, and logs in at 5,600 square feet. It's located on the end of a cul-de-sac, which was probably a selling point for Kidman, who was looking for a home with a long driveway for privacy. While no photos are yet available, I'll be sure to provide you with plenty of real estate eye candy when photos of the property are released.
On the other side of the country, Nicole and Keith have purchased another expansive manse. To see a picture of their Nashville home, just read more
According to Big Time, the former home of Gwen Stefani, and current home of
That '70s Show creator Mark Brazill is on the market for nearly $4.9 million. Built in 1928,
Sotheby's calls it "one of the finest Mediterranean estates in Los Feliz." With Moroccan-looking tiles throughout, many original architectural details, as well as magnificent landscaping, it truly is stunning. While certain elements of the interior design do enhance its appeal, the architectural bones of this 1920s Mediterranean home are what elevate it to
Coveted Crib status. Check out this slideshow for a tour of the interior, and stay tuned for images of the exterior to come!

According to Page Six, two of Andy Warhol's former Manhattan residences are on the market, under Corcoran listings. One of the properties is a 12-room, six-story Upper East Side house owned by former Viacom head Tom Freston, and has an asking price of $38.5 million. The pop icon "paid only $310,000 for the now-renovated 1910 townhouse," and "lived there from 1974 until his death in 1987."
Amongst its "exceptional finishes and extraordinary architectural detail," it boasts "a master floor plus three additional master bedrooms, a wonderful library, living room, dining room, chef's kitchen, staff suite, gym and seven wood burning fireplaces," as well as an elevator, says the listing. Warhol is also honored by a plaque on the front of the building, placed there by the Historic Landmark Preservation Center. Stay tuned for details and lots (!) of photos of the other property up for grabs. Check out photos of this property below, and as always, feel free to make a bid if you don't mind spending 60 grand on annual taxes.
