I spotted this DIY on How About Orange, and thought it was so cute and simple, so I decided I'd summarize it. The great thing about this project is that you can personalize it with any fabric, or by sewing or stitching an interesting pattern into the coaster. It's also a great housewarming gift that's inexpensive and can be customized to the color scheme of a friend's new home! Supplies:
In anticipation of Wednesday night's preview of SATC, I was inspired to create some home decor looks based on some of the most striking frocks worn by Carrie Bradshaw. Here, Carrie seems nearly swallowed by a fairytale wonder of a gown by Versace Couture.

A celebrity couple owns this $35 million Beverly Hills mansion. Can you name one of them? I'll give you a hint: The mommy in the family's headed to Broadway!
I think I need to quit my job and move to Morocco, or Spain, because if the gorgeous horseshoe-shaped arches on this Rian Rae Moorish Table ($780) are any indication of the architecture there, I can guarantee I'll be happy. Until then, I'll settle for drooling over this intricately hand-chased aluminum table in the comfort of my own home. Don't blame me if I fib and tell friends I picked it up during "my travels." It's items like this one that prove that handmade is oh so much better. Do you love it? Do you want to move with me?
Portland, OR, home accessories store Canoe works on the premise of providing "simple, beautiful, and functional objects that can be used and enjoyed everyday." Established in 2005, it's stocked with lovely offerings, everything from eco-design books to beautiful Japanese bud vases. While you can visit this beautiful, spare store at 1136 SW Alder Street in Portland, you can also take advantage of its online inventory, just in case you don't have a trip to the PNW planned anytime soon. Take a look at the widget for some of my favorite finds.
Shannon Shapiro of Moth Design takes great inspiration from nature. Her lamps, sconces, and chandeliers sprout branches, coral outcroppings, and leaves. A designer from Los Angeles who creates lighting, furniture, and interiors that are inspired by shapes in the natural world, her work has been broadly covered in shelter mags like O at Home, House and Garden, and Elle Decor, among others.
Shannon refined her art and design skills through an apprenticeship with author and architect Arthur Andersson, as well as her study at the California Institute of Arts, where she earned an MFA.

A certain rocker/blogger's female companion was spotted shopping at Naga Antiques in New York, which specializes in Japanese screens, bronzes, ceramics, porcelains, lacquer, sculpture, and furniture, presumably for her home. Do you know who it is?
