Would you like a little horsing around with your gin and tonic? This Fredrick Weinberg Horse Shaped Drink Trolley ($950) will definitely add some eccentricity to your home bar.
For this challenge, I'd like you to tell me how you'd use this cart in your home. Would you up its kitsch factor with more equine-themed accents? Would you repaint it? What room would it look best in? Would it work for a children's playroom? What would you store on it? Tell me in the comments below! Source
As we all know, Summer, like its counterparts, is an ephemeral season. Just as you've kicked the blisters on your new gladiator sandals, it seems like the leaves have already begun to change, and you catch yourself eyeing Fall's new collection of boots. But, it is possible to enjoy the Summer despite the fact that you know its fading fast. Aside from hopping on a plane to your favorite equatorial locale, you can have an endless Summer by extending the time you spend outdoors. You can do so by creating an enclosed outdoor retreat for yourself. Start by setting up a canopied tent, or hang sheets or curtains between trees to DIY one (keep them in place by hooking them to a stake in the ground); they'll shield you from the breeze. Then, set some outdoor furniture inside your tent. Make it cozy by setting outdoor cushions on the floor with a a Summer quilt and some throws. Fill in the corners of your retreat with potted plants, including fragrant herbs or flowers. Set an outdoor heater inside to keep you warm when the temperatures really get low, and use candles to create calm, romantic lighting. Bring out a tray to serve food and keep candles from being knocked over. Pick up a couple of rocks from your yard and use them as paperweights for any reading materials or wrappers you bring out. Enjoy Summer while it lasts! Source
Hi Casa,
I would really love your help/advice on something. I have a Tommy Hilfiger comforter that I bought freshman year for college; the comforter color is similar to this one shown here. At the time, I was really into bright colors, especially hot pink.
Now, I am entering my junior year at school, about to be 21 and, well, the hot pink seems a little immature to me. Also, I prefer something a little more mellow for my dorm because it essentially doubles as a work space and resting place. I don't really want to spend a lot of money on new bedding because I'll be abroad next semester so the bedding wouldn't be for very long. Do you have any ideas on how I can subdue the color with other things (i.e. room accessories, pillows, frames)? Or any sites that I can look into getting something new in an inexpensive price range?
Thanks for your help! Gmlgml31

When I was little, my whole family would sleep out on the deck on hot Summer nights. Not only was it fun, but it also kept us from overheating inside the house. As an adult, I've tried to recreate this family tradition by camping out in the backyard, and even spending a night or two in the hammock. Do you ever sleep outside on hot Summer nights? Source
The MoMA Store is currently holding its Summer Sale, offering discounts of up to 65 percent on home furnishing, personal accessory, desk, stationery, toy, and game items. It's not often that one of my favorite museums cuts me a break like this — unfortunately they're no longer accepting my rusty student ID card for discounted entry. So, I'm certainly pumped about the sale. Here are a few items I wouldn't mind taking home: Source
