Add any cool additions to your house lately? Maybe a porch? Maybe just a new throw pillow? Whatever you're doing, I want to see it!
Show off all of your home views, both interior and exterior, in my group on TeamSugar called Su Casa, where readers can share snapshots and stories related to home decorating, crafts, organizing, and gardening. A Su Casa post could be anything from a photo of a loved one's home to a tiny nook you're tickled by. Think of it as a Look Book for home style. If I see something I like in Su Casa, I might feature it on CasaSugar, so don't be surprised if you get an email from me!

It's not very often that we see such a wealth of pink outside of the bedroom of school girl. But, a pretty-in-pink look can be achieved with sophistication without screaming "fairy princess." The key is to steer clear of overly feminine patterns, and pick up your pinks from a particular element, such as a rug. Here, the walls, curtains, and pillows echo the mauve tones of this one-of-a-kind kilim rug, and its terracotta tones are picked up by other accents such as the coral chair and bowl. Pattern is left mostly to the rug, and modern shapes and furnishings give the room a mature edge. Perhaps pink isn't for you, but focusing on one key element is a fool-proof living room decorating idea for any interior. Source
The Manhattan home of fashion and interior accessories designer Cynthia Rowley was recently featured in the October issue of Elle Decor, and it is the epitome of style. Could you really expect anything less? Against a cool palette throughout, you'll see a mix of antiques (and eras), flea market finds, original artwork, and Rowley designs as sophisticated as her ready-to-wear collections and as radiant as her home accessory line for Target. First of Brad Pitt's Make It Right Houses Done in New Orleans Three years after Hurricane Katrina, the first homes built in by Brad Pitt's Make It Right rebuilding project are complete. Touring the building site in the Lower 9th Ward with Angelina and kids in tow this week, one ecstatic grandmother gave Brad a huge hug. She said of her new electric yellow house, "Honey, this is like heaven on earth." She'll be moving into the house with five of her 22 grandkids later this month.
I've been into the skull trend for a year now, but ever since I saw this AT:NY house tour, my love for three-dimensional skulls was solidified. I'm not a fan of Hot Topic-esque skull motifs or patterns, but realistic shapes, like Dan Akroyd's Crystal Head vodka or this shimmery Z Gallerie Metallic Skull ($24.95) have me head over heels.
I've been on the lookout for a desk for a while now, and while I'll probably choose something in a natural wood finish, I am attracted to some of the brighter colors I've seen out there. While the Janie Desk ($699) from Pottery Barn Kids is intended for a children's room, I think it would look fantastic in an all-white office, don't you? I love its hot pink shade, which is a fun addition to its traditional shape and spindle legs.

Recently, I interviewed Tyler Velten, whose apartment had been featured in a New York Times article about designing on a student's budget. Tyler has a lot of cool, creative ideas for making eco changes on a budget. Check out some of his household experiments in the slideshow. Photos Courtesy Tyler Velten
