4 Ways to Winterproof Your Sex Life Is the Winter weather giving you a case of cabin fever? Instead of fighting it, go with the flow, and turn the heat up with your honey in your Winter home. DearSugar tells you how.
San Francisco Bay Area remodeling firm Harrell Remodeling specializes in renovating homes with a focus on comfort, beauty, and eco-conscious materials. In the case of this two-story home, the firm considered the needs of the environmentally conscious, active family who lived in it, and developed a low-maintenance expansion on the existing home. Using sustainable materials for this whole house remodel, the remodel focused on supplying the family with what they needed for their easygoing, active lifestyle, including additional storage space and easy maintenance.
Additional changes to the home include a luxurious Japanese Ofuro soaking tub and dry sauna, expanded hallways, Craftsman detailing that reflects the home's original look, and a newly designed master bedroom, master bath, and office.
You can't get away with serving two-buck Chuck and Popov from this magnificent Pedro Sousa Cocktail Cabinet ($22,750). Well, maybe you could, since your guests might be so distracted by the fabulousness of this cabinet they'd miss out on the bottles altogether.
The first of a collection of limited edition cabinets by the young Portuguese designer Pedro Sousa, who graduated from design school in 2002, this case piece is not only a sleekly luxurious and unusual confection, but an investment in fine art. Its base may look like cast iron, but it's actually hand-carved and lacquered wood, and its drawers are made of high quality leather. The exterior of the cabinet is akin to the Batmobile — multi-faceted, slick, and intimidating — but its sunshine-yellow interior pours a spoonful of fun into your domestic mixology.
I have a love for silhouettes, but until now I've always stuck to basic black. Can you guess what this silhouette is made from? (Hint: it's also used for making canoes.)

Do you have a hard time getting motivated on chilly Winter mornings? Instead of shivering through your morning shower, move a space heater into your bathroom. Turn it on as soon as you get up, and then dash off a few morning errands for about 10 minutes. By the time you've started a pot of coffee, set out your work clothes, and fed your cat, the bathroom will be toasty warm. Even if the weather is in the single digits outside your door, you can pretend you're in a tropical paradise for at least the length of your shower. Just make sure to turn off the space heater and flip on the fan when you're done — that way, your energy use will be minimal, and so will the amount of humidity lingering in your bathroom .
