If you're looking to buy a new home right now, this sour economy is probably working in your favor, as prices have been driven down. If you're trying to rent, your hand doesn't look as good, as rental costs have risen. Are you content in your pad or looking to move?

I'm getting ready to buy my first home. I'm so excited. I'm driving myself crazy with house sites, design sites, everything.

I'M CLOSING ON FRIDAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Can you tell I'm excited? Just a little. It's our first home and I can't wait to fill it with fun colors and cool furniture and knicknacks. It's twice the space we have now in our apartment.

Plus_2...I second that motion. I'm finally moving out of my mother's house because I can afford the rent in the nicer neighborhoods now. Shoot, they're practically giving away condos and such!

Congrats to you new home owners.FYI Casa, rents where I live have plummeted not risen (a 7% drop in January alone!!). So even with lowered prices buying is still not attractive.

I signed the papers Monday to accept the counter offer. All by myself...eek! I had to jump on it like crazy. The first two homes I made offers on were gone in less than a week!! I saw this on the day it went on the market, I know at least one person saw it before me, and 4 were scheduled to see the day after.

just signed the papers last night - purchased my FIRST HOUSE!! (with my husband of course) I'm so excited. It's such a buyers market right now.. not the sellers though. We got an excellent deal. :)
