Feeling chilly? Then try the Slanket ($44.95), an oversize fleece blanket with sleeves! It might be one of the most ridiculously nerdy things I've ever seen, but at the same time it's actually pretty functional. What do you think?

This is a great idea! I hate having to take my arms out from underneath the blanket to change the channel, read a magazine/book, snack, etc.
i hate reading a book while in a blanket because you always have to take your arms out to turn the page! so annoying.
i would love this, but i would really hope nobody would ever have to see me looking like a franciscan monk.
My friend's family had a version of these years ago and they were amazing! It was a long rectangle-shaped blanket with carefully placed snaps, that, when assembled, was the coolest thing ever (I was ten)!
I would definitely grab one of these. My favorite thing to do is wrap up in a blanket and get lost in a book. I have to snuggle pretty carefully so I don't have to take my arm out every time I need to turn the page.
But...why is it brown? Can't it come in cream, or red, or any color other than brown?
I clicked on the link and discovered the other colors the Slanket comes in. Very nice.
My Mother made these for everyone in the family. Fleece and a sewing machine, here I come!!
I LOVE IKEA! There . . . I just had to say that!
A what? No. Just a regular ol' blanket for please.
Hahahaha! I love it. Yes, I have no problem being nerdy for comfort :]
Can I mention how much the guy picture looks like a monk? great idea though. I might get my Mom to sew me one othese bad boys!
hehe looks like a Halloween costume, but i'd still use it!
If my fiance ever sees this, he will buy them out! I can totally picture him wearing this.
I have one of these and I love it for reading, playing video games, or working on the computer in the winter...wish I could take it to work.
yes I would
Own one! Had it for 2 years and it's as wonderful as it looks!!
I agree with those who hate having to have their arms out of the blanket while reading.. I would so use one of these!!
i had one when i was little that i would wear all over the house, it had snaps though so you could snap and unsnap the bottom it was awesome
Heck yes I'd wear that! I'm always cold. As others have said, it's perfect for reading.
Seems kind of expensive for a backwards robe, but I did hate being cold in my old drafty house. Ohhh, just imagine it for using the computer.
My mom bought me something like this last Christmas and it's sooo nice and warm.
with the price of heating oil tripling this year in my area...yes, I would wear this
How come whenever I come up with a brilliant idea, someone has already invented it?
i agree, he looks like a monk.
OMG I have to have this.
I'm cold natured, but that thing looks way too hot and ugly for me to be bothered. I'd be tugging at the neck after 10 minutes...way too constricting.
yes, I would love one of these. My girlfriend would love it more. she has a blanket at the moment and everytime we go round there she's under it watching tv - even in the summer!
Might buy her one for xmas LOL
I bought my mom one for Christmas 2 years ago and now I wish I could steal it from her! If you fold the arms in, it looks like a regular throw blanket.
I own a slanket. Best gift ever. I now look forward to cold Sunday mornings on the couch!
I foresee getting at least one of these for my video playing boys.
I want mine to come with mittens and a hood. Also a pocket for feet.
what if you wanted to get up it seems like it would be a pain in the donkey
i just saw this on one of the home shopping channels....i think it looks convenient...but i agree...i would like pockets for the feet!
No. I would just wear a sweater and maybe have a blanket over me.
ok, seriously people, it's a robe.
I love this, but when I saw this same picture elsewhere, I said the same thing as the others. Looks like a monk's habit.
I want a green one, though, for winter studying purposes.
It looks like a hogwarts student! ROTFL!
I worked at a large retailer and the vendor sent us a sample and i was the guinea pig.... an very warm and happy guinea pig. everyone thought it was the best. glad it's finally getting the acclaim it deserves.
I've been shopping for one of these for work, actually. It's frigid there! And I would love to look like a monk
I would wear the hell out of that!! maybe when no one else was around.... lol but sheesh sooo cozy! reminds me of a monk.
where is his braided rope/belt? looks like a monk to me!
Only if it were part of some wild fantasy of my husband's... and I really don't see that happening.
..But really, that thing is pretty crazy. No way.
I must be even nerdier than I thought. It looks warm and comfortable, and I'd buy one for everyone in the household, then turn the heat down.
