Would You Buy Your Favorite Online Shelter Magazine . . . in Print?

In addition to publishing free of charge online, Lonny magazine is now providing its readers with the option of purchasing a printed paper copy to the tune of $34. The shelter mag has teamed up with a Hewlett-Packard service called MagCloud which facilitates the printing of web-based magazines. Lonny's orders are custom printed on FSC-certified paper and bound and shipped on demand. In a statement about the new service, Lonny said: "Our pricing is a reflection of this custom service, but rest assured that we are working hard to offer our issues at a more affordable price point in the future." So hopefully, that price will come down.

I love all of the features online magazines offer, such as direct links to products, archived photos, videos, and other interactive features. But when it comes down to it, the experience of holding a paper copy in my hands and poring over a long-awaited issue can't be beat. So if the price were more pleasant — say $10-$15 or less — I would definitely subscribe to Lonny (or the new Rue magazine!) in print. How about you?
