Recently, I've been remembering my college days when I had to pack up and ship out after each Spring semester. I'm so glad to be staying put for a while; I personally think moving is one of life's biggest headaches. Tell me, when was the last time you moved?

I've moved three times and soon it will be four. I'm really dreading it. Just the thought of unpacking boxes and rearranging furniture gives me a headache.
1I moved in March and I gotta admit.. still not fully unpacked.
2it's been two years since i moved and i think i've finally found where i'm supposed to stay for a while. however, i love to move so if years from now another house looks better - i'll pack everything up and head out. i love to move ... i love the feeling of starting over.
3Moving is so annoying.
I'll never understand the people who dont just hire MOVERS.
Its so much worth it ($$$) to not have to do it yourself, its safer for all your furniture, and they are professionals so they are usually done within an hour or two depending on the size of your house/furniture load, versus the entire day or weekend that it takes when you try to do it yourself....
I will never understand people who move themselves!
4Getting ready to move across country (closer to Sugarland in CA!) in just a few weeks and packing now! Luckily, I'm still young and don't have furniture that I'm taking with me.
5This past weekend!! Moving sucks but I love my new house!
6Jen, I so agree. We hired movers this time, and I'm never doing it myself again!
I moved pretty much every year in college/grad school - 6 years in a row of signing leases, paying deposits, going all over town to find boxes, and begging guy friends with trucks to help me move the big furniture. Never again!!!
7i moved about eight months ago & i'll be moving again in another year. hopefully that will be it for a while, though. a year & eight months is the longest i've stayed anywhere since i lived at home. i'm so ready to settle down & have a "home" instead of a series of janky apartments.
8Hmm, I moved myself and I think the money I saved was so worth it. But I only moved a few miles away.
9I have to move in August and I'm dreading it. Somehow we've accumulated so much stuff in just a year.
10Oh, moving is seriously the worst. My SO and I have stayed in the same apartment for a couple of years now, but it's time to just take the plunge and get a new place. We're both dreading the experience, though, having had some real relocation horror stories.
11built a house in 05 and dont plan on moving for another 3 years or so and hope that will be a final move for a long time.
had movers one time before and they broke things and only covered so much. now we have about 20 friends help us move and we help them all move. it saves tons of money and we all get to enjoy the joy of moving in. rather buy a new couch or something.
12I hate moving! luckily we haven't done it in a while, but it's coming up again. We moved into our current place when we were expecting our daughter- the one bedroom apartment just wasn't going to cut it anymore! But we may move this year to a bigger (but still rented) house.
The worst was the year I moved out of my parents' house (waaaay back when I was 18)... I moved 4 times that year, not counting moving my (at the time BF) hubby out of his parents' house. Gross!
13My hubby and I just moved 2 weeks ago!!!
14The last time I moved will forever be remembered as "the awful week during which I decided it was worth it to pay for movers". It was so tiring that I'm willing to handle an extra hour of commute time each day, just so I don't have to move again.
15I hate to move. It is the biggest headache ever. The only good thing is you do get ride of a lot of junk.
16We moved a month ago. We bought the house and don't plan on moving for a very long time, if ever
I hate moving it stinks. It took all weekend. I would hire movers if we could afford it but my SIL got a price for movers to move her and it was like $3,500. That is crazy. So it
was much cheaper to pay $83 for a rental truck and then family helped us move and we will be returning the favor in a couple of months when they move into their new house.
17just hit the one year mark in my apartment!
18Moved into my very own (post-college) place nearly a year ago!
19I'm in the middle of a move right now. We're moving from Canada to Norway. It is so much work and worries, but I'm sure I'll love my new life in Europe.
20I bought a place a little over a year ago and so I might never have to move again!!! It's a 3 bedroom, so unless I have more that 2 kids (very doubtful) there will probably be enough room. It's a pretty crazy thought that this might be where I live forever. . .and I'm only in my early 20s!
21My SO & I just closed on our first home on May 6th... So we are not even fully settled in. City Girl my house is also three bedrooms + den, but we'll probably move up once we decide to start a family. Each of our rooms already has a purpose and I'm sure I would give up my office for a nursery, but more than 1 child in that house would be overkill. We do have 3 dogs too so we are a full house already
22Last month! I moved from Virginia to Ohio.
23I've done short distance moves every year for the past five years, but I'll be moving 1000 miles away in August. Not looking forward to it, especially without my strong man to help carry things.
24Moved 13 times in 10 years. Hate movers... yet to find a single honest one. Much less hassle to do it yourself.
For moving cross country we did do a 'you pack, they haul' deal, which was $3,000+ cheaper than the lowest mover's quote + everything actually showed up since we sealed the trailer + none of the antiques were broken or gouged since we wrapped them carefully ourselves.
25We hired movers for the first time with these last 2 moves, a) because husbands company was paying for it and b) we were moving to another state. We moved twice in the last 2.5 years. we started in FL, then moved to TX for 7 months then to NV where we are now and have been for 2 years.
We moved alot when we lived in FL and each time we moved ourselves, they were very small moves though - just blocks away in each case.
26Hate moving haven't done it in over 12 years!
276 almost 7 months ago was the last time i moved
28I have been in my house for 11 years now. We have no plans of moving anytime time soon. i am satisfied with my house until I can afford one that is double its' size.
29I moved into this place 2.5 years ago but I'm packing up right now for a move next month. I'm not looking forward to the moving process but my new apartment is a definite upgrade!
30I last moved 18 years ago. I don't plan to move again any time soon -- at least not in the next 2 years or so.
31I moved about 4 years ago and we're looking for a new place right now. I'm actually looking forward to moving so I can get rid of a bunch of stuff and do some decorating and start from scratch. I'm weird like that.
32I've moved a lot since I got married 10 years ago. About 8 times in 10 years. I dread the packing and unpacking but the house hunting is fun! I hope I don't have to move again in a long time I really love our current townhouse!
33since i moved out of my mom's house in 2001, i've moved 8 times!! i am going to move again in August. i really hate moving but there always seems to be something wrong with the building, like i am forced to move because of renovations or it is too far from university...then i went on a school exchange and a long trip, so i put my stuff in storage. i am hoping the next place is good enough to stay in for the next 2 years at least!
i hire movers but they always take a long time and damage things. i wish i had access to a truck like through the car co-op i used to be a part of so my roommie and i could move ourselves.
34We did a cross county move from OH to CA last summer. It was torture. But I really shouldn't be complaing. My hubby and my dad ( and their brothers) packed up everything and drove it out in a big rented Budget van, and I flew out. I know it seems like I got the easy end of the bargin, but I was preggers and the stress of moving coupled with driving 4 days across the country would have been a little much ; )
35let's see - i moved to nyc in march of last year, moved again july 1st, moved again october 1st and now and looking to move again with two wonderful roommates on August 1st. You are all very jealous I know! Any New Yorkers out there with suggestions I'd love to hear them! Just need to keep my sanity
36I just settled on my new house in April. We still have dozens of unpacked boxes in the house, the garage is full of furniture and boxes that haven't made it into the house, and we just emptied our storage unit of everything we plopped in there when we put our old house on the market, which made things 300 times worse. I never want to move again.
37I just moved over this last weekend. My muscles ache, there are boxes everywhere, the a/c is temporarily out in our new place - but I really, really hope we stay here awhile.
