Open House: What Room Renovation Is the Most Valuable?
Unless you're buying new construction, chances are a remodel is on the brain. Somehow the linoleum floors and off-color kitchen counters don't sparkle and shine like Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin's Tribeca lair. Unfortunately, the budget of a renovation can make someone perfectly content with their not-so-exciting décor and even cherish their overpainted moldings.
While spending thousands of dollars on a new bathroom may rattle one right back into their caulked up bathtub, it can potentially be priceless when it comes to resale value. A kitchen makeover always seems to up the ante, as do bathroom revamps. Perhaps the presence of major appliances and fixtures makes them easy targets, but a swanky dining room and spacious bedroom with a walk-in closet can also do wonders for an asking price. So tell me, which room do you think packs the most punch when remodeled?
