Orlando Bloom recently painted his $2.75 million Hollywood Hills a near-black shade that has neighbors Charlize Theron and Scarlett Johansson a bit perturbed.
While I think the house is actually kind of cool-looking (okay, and a bit goth, admittedly), I can see why it would turn off neighbors who have to look at it every day. There are definitely some shades that I'd never dream of painting my house — what are your color no-nos?

Lipsy
Anything neon! Ewww!!!
1Canary Yellow.
2Could I please vote for all of them?
3SweetnLow, I was going to say the same thing! I wouldn't paint that house ANY of those colors.
4I don't see anything at all wrong w/the color of his house...?
5I'd paint colors that compliment the neighborhood and the type of house (i.e. Victorian, Colonial, etc.) If I was living in Bermuda, and all the houses were colorful, I'd paint my house pink.
6I'm with the others above.. how about a "none of the above" choice.. that's where I fall. ew, pink, gold, silver, neon.. how do you chooose between those?
7Never pink.
8All of the above...ha.
9I like his house.....but I'd never paint mine any of those colors!
10Anything neon!! How obnoxious. I've owned two houses, and I've painted both of them blue/grey with white siding on the front.
I guess I know what I like.
11I would have to go with none of the above, although I don't have a problem with Orlando's color choice.
12Or I guess it would be all of the above-- I would never paint my house any of those colors.
13This color isn't bad. It actually looks good. I would go with black as well.
14i would paint it something totally different from the neighbors. like grey and pink! stripes? or flowers?
then i can say, "my house is the only grey and pink house on the block."
i don't see anything wrong with orlando's choice of color, i think it's pretty.
how cool is that, he could borrow some sugar from charlize and scarlett?
15Totally depends on where the house is. My family has a victorian summer home in Cape May that is light blue and green... fits in perfectly with the neighborhood, because all the victorians are painted that way. I could never, ever paint my house pink though (the house next to ours is!) because I don't like the color. I don't think I'd want to live in a black house, either... can you imagine how hot it would get in the summer?
16I think his house looks great - at least from what I can tell. I would never paint a house orange because I don't like orange. Actually, come to think of it, Sherbert Orange is OK and much preferable to anything NEON, so I change my vote to neon. I like color and I'm not afraid to use it! I am also a fan of expression and making things match my colorful personality. My car, for example, is custom-painted pink.
17All the colors listed. I actually like Orlando's house.
18All of the above!
19I went with neon, but if "all of the above" is an option, please count me in. Now, painting a wall or a room in a "wild" color for accent is another thing entirely, but the whole house?
I mean, okay maybe a cool deep violet shutter on the right house would work just fine, but not the whole house. I actually don't think the grey would be too bad for an accent color, but it is a bit much on the whole house. Granted, I am not uber-cool Orlando either.
20I like the almost black. The house appears to recede into the background and the foliage really stands out.
21I went with neon, but all of the above! ... minus black, b/c I think in the right place it could look OK.
22All of those colors!
I'm with Twinkle, I do like Orlando's color too.
23Depends where I'm living. My house in Bermuda was pink and blended in perfectly with the neighborhood.
24I rather like the black house.
I wouldn't like to paint my house in many of the choices given, but I went with orange because the color orange makes me angry.
25Does anyone else have emotions tied with colors?
Well, they all sound terrible, but neon is the worst to me. Ugh.
26i would also like to vote for all of them! i don't think orlando's house looks that bad, actually.
27i was giong to say pink but then remembered that i lived in miami and that's normal....so NO NEON - that's what i say
28Not Pepto Bismol pink, nor black
29It may be the angle, but I see nothing wrong with Orlando's color. As long as it's not electric green or is super unkempt (aka a huge eyesore), I don't think I'd object to someone else's creative choices.
30I think I could handle a silver house, but I would never do anything neon. It would burn the eyes of passerbys.
31I like his house. V. cool. I wouldn't paint my house any of the other colors listed really, but I couldn't choose just one, so I said other.
32My late godmother used to crack me up saying that if someone pissed her off enough she would pay drug addicts to paint their house black.
33There's a house in my town that is hot pink with orange trim... I figured that the owners must hate their neighbors.
34There is a house in a neighborhood we drive through that is painted pepto pink and black. We call it the "Pepto House." I would hate to live across the steet and have to look at it all the time. Bleh.
35I Ireland (and in some towns around here) people paint their houses in all sorts of different, vibrant colors. The folk-lore says people do this so they don't accidentally walk into their neighbor's similarly-colored house by accident when they're drunk.
36anything neon. though I have heard that some people paint their houses bright, vibrant colors to warn off evil or bad spirits.
37All of the above!
38I live in florida and for some reason people here like to paint thier houses ungodly colors, like purple and all sorts of pastels, and bright neon colors, its sickening.
39In Wisconsin, I saw a house painted Packer green and gold. It's hideous.
40A friend of mine's mom house was BRIGHT yellow for quite a while, he finnally conviced her to re-paint this past summer. Now it's a far more normal shade of yellow.
41There is a house in the neighborhood owned by an old veteran who owns a hot dog truck. He paints his house every sports season for his different teams. Right now it is red and gold for the 49ers. It has been black and orange for the Giants and Green and Yellow for the A's.
42It's cool that he painted his house black and not white like the others!
43I wouldn't paint my house neon.
It depends on the neighborhood, and the adjacent houses. I've seen some crazy colors work perfectly well in very nice neighborhoods.
44OK, just read the above comments...NO MIXING OF COLORS, PEOPLE!!! That's just plain crazy.
45I kinda like the color of his house BUT it does look dismal.
46I would never paint my house any of the colors in the list.
Teal blue, purple, neon colors, bright green ... I could go on! I'm pretty conservative!
47I chose neon, because my dad own a bed and breakfast with bungalows that are painted neon green with royal blue and bright orange. Granted its on a tropical island, but I still think the colors are ridiculous.
48I'd have to say the absolute worse would probably be Pepto BismOl pink , I just don't really like pink much, I find it annoying.
Black! Why not just crawl into a whole instead?
