Vintage and New Trunks as Coffee Tables and Side Tables

Roundup: Treasure Trunks

2

My mother just moved and was kind enough to fill my sister's NYC apartment with all of her unwanted furniture. An antique trunk that was formerly used as a side table now has a new career as a coffee table in the diminutive two-bedroom. Better yet, it doubles as storage for throws and other odds and ends! My grandmother gave each of her daughters an antique trunk when they left for college, so this one in particular has sentimental value. But regardless of their history, a wood trunk is a timeless purchase that's extremely versatile. So if you come across one that you love, particularly an antique, I highly suggest you scoop it up! There are plenty of beautiful new ones on the market, too. Here are a few of my favorites.
