Use Repeating Geometry in a Room
Casa Quickie: Circle Game
What I wouldn't give to be transported to this gorgeous boudoir, found in photographer Jean Allsopp's portfolio. From the stunning chandelier above the bed to the dark and lovely linens, it's a look I'm tempted to copy in my own home.
Part of the reason this bedroom looks so pulled together is because several elements echo a circular shape. There's a tiny circular print on the duvet; circular sculptures on the beside table; more circles in the tufted buttons of the headboard and drawer pulls of the dresser; and finally, that fabulous chandelier uses circular crystals to get its shine on.
While these spheres aren't the first thing that jump out at you, that's exactly the point: you don't want to be too obvious with it. Try this technique at home by starting out very subtly, and then build onto the geometric pattern as it naturally occurs.
