In the home that I have been working on, we have to put carpet in two of the rooms. The rest of the house is either hardwood or tile. We cannot afford to put more hardwoods in, so we decided carpet would be the most practical thing to do. The only thing is that carpet is soooo blah. I have found some that look ok but I don't really know what kind I should get. I do intend on have a decorative rug over top. I am thinking of a neutral berber. I have seen many houses with sisal but I don't know what that is. One of the rooms is a wheat color and the other is a light warmer gray. I don't want to be too creative because I need something that will help sell the house.

Thoughts or suggestions anyone? When choosing carpet, my recommendation is always to head to a carpet store or Home Depot, etc. and test out the look and feel of samples themselves. Sisal (natural fiber flooring) is really durable, versatile, and classic but it's not very soft underfoot, so that's something to consider. I'm not a fan of berber. In general, I'd suggest a neutral, low-pile carpet if you're concerned about selling your house.
