CS: What furniture and art did you use in this space?
KS: All the furniture, decor, art. and accessories were from HauteLook, except for Emma's existing settee, which she had just purchased when moving in. To complement her sofa I used two beautiful side chairs made from a bent walnut and cream linen fabric. I wanted to keep the small space feeling open so these chairs with the open arms is a great way to do that. I went with an opaque white glass nesting table set instead of a traditional coffee table. It's a much better idea for a small space because they're so transitional for different events and for normal days can be tucked together to maximize square footage — It's like getting three tables for one!
My favorite piece in the space is actually the black bar cabinet. I think it’s so beautiful, looks so expensive, and is a piece Emma will have with her forever. It's also great because storage is always necessary in a small space and it really grounds that corner. The brass sculptures are my way of adding that unexpected element that every space should have. They're a conversation starter and I love adding a little metallic to a space — it’s like jewelry for your outfit.
