Interior designer Thomas Jayne is known for his ability for highlighting the best of classical traditions in interior design while reworking those traditions into fresh, modern interiors. Jayne's discerning eye and refined sense of color serve him well in all of his work, and of course also help when designing his own home's holiday decor.
Today, he's sharing some vignettes from his home, a gorgeous apartment in an 1830 Creole French Quarter townhouse in New Orleans. Enjoy the photos of Jayne's holiday-decorated townhouse and learn how you can create a similar look in your own home.
Check out Thomas Jayne's tips below:
- "For a no stress scenario, fresh greens (any regional flavor whether magnolia or pine works) and red ribbon are a no fail option. Adding gold or silver ornaments from a hardware store is a festive, yet simple touch."
- "Use table top trees, either real or a goose feather reproduction. A table top tree provides the magic and tradition of a Christmas tree without the sometimes overwhelming nature of a full size tree. Look for live table top trees from LL Bean or White Flower Farm. Also, their paperwhites and amaryllis are beautiful. You can find goose feather trees from Home Traditions.
