Most of us don't spend much time thinking about what goes in our dishwashers. We tend to just load the dishes, squeeze a bit of detergent into its receptacle, and turn it on — maybe pressing heavy for pots and pans, normal for the usual plates and glasses. Since I've learned the hard way what can and cannot go in the dishwasher, I'm hoping to pass a bit of that know-how on to you and save you from tarnished silverware.
