Originally native to Africa, Asia, and Madagascar, Gerbera daisies can now be found all over the world. A compact plant that come in a variety of colors, Gerbera daisies like indirect or filtered light. You should avoid abnormally warm areas, such as placing them near a heating vent or woodstove. Keep the soil moist and allow the soil surface to dry slightly between waterings.

Live flowers are always my best choice, too.However, in terms of purifying air, a company called Green Come True sells silk flowers thatpurify air by eliminating bacteria and virusesin the air. Using just light.It is coated with special nano-tech coating.I don't know if it actually does what it says to do.High tech item. From Japan, of course.I prefer real live daisies.

Great pic casasugar! i hadn't even tried to grow a flower inside..well except for some african violets I got and killed. I super love Gerbera daisies too...when I worked in a florist they were my favorites to send out.

Hey PartyBarbie, the Gerbera daisy probably won't do too well if it doesn't have any access to outdoor light. But no worries—I'll recommend some good low-light plants in a future post. Also, Freshpink, indoor growing Gerbera Daisies can flower all year round if properly cared for. Just make sure to remove old leaves regularly to prevent fungal infections. If your plant has completely stopped flowering, you may want to plant it outdoors.

def my fav flower. we used it at our wedding and everyone loved them. My husband buys me these in dirt and I soemtimes get 3 or 4 blooms out of them. So Freshpink, yes, you can see more than one bloom. love it!
