CS: What's one piece of advice that Tony would've loved to pass on to modern day home decorators?
HW: Hire a professional and leave them alone to do their job! Tony could never understand why anyone would want to do this kind of work on their own. The fun is working with someone who knows what they're doing and are creative and fun to be with, or at least more fun to be with than your husband. Doing a house is hard work so go with a pro — you get what you pay for. A good decorator should be one of the best investments or presents you can give yourself. Tony would also say, "go custom." You are an individual, so go for one-of-a-kind pieces, custom made, or antique — be individual and don't take your interiors too seriously, and whatever you do, don't choose anything for anyone except yourself. You're not doing it to impress your friends, you're doing it for your own pleasure and that of your family.
