In the land of bling, a pendant is a type of bauble that hangs around the neck by a chain or cord. Similarly, a pendant lamp is a light fixture suspended from the ceiling. Typically, a pendant lamp is mounted on a base made from metal or another material, and a long cord or rod hangs down from the base with the lamp and light bulb at the end.

Pendant lamps come in an extensive variety of types and shapes. Some are made from metal and glass, while others are simply light bulbs affixed to paper or fabric lampshades.

I have a vintage pendant lamp hanging in my living room. I inherited it from a bff who moved! I love it. The paper lantern idea sounds awesome. Those are my favorite! Our bedroom is asian themed so I may have to try that with some lanterns I have lying around!

I created my own pendant lamps using paper lanterns and water color paint. I painted the paper shades to match the colors of my room. Then I just used old twinkle christmas lights inside and hung them at varying levels. It's a dramatic look!
