HGTV's Nicole Curtis Opens Up About a Big New Project — and What's Next

Now, we can all unleash our inner Rehab Addict. Nicole Curtis, host of the hit HGTV show, has unveiled a product line through Minnesota-based retailer EVINE Live.

The collection is called Nicole Curtis Home, and the first crop of items includes renovation essentials like a heat gun, a stud finder, and a paint sprayer. "I just wanted to put together some things that people constantly ask me about, tools I started using back when I started 20 years ago," Nicole explained.

Nicole designed her products to be easy for anyone to use, regardless of skill level. "I like to have people feel empowered," she said. "That's why I started with the small tools, because so many times, people jump into these huge projects and get overwhelmed. They quit, and they give up. I always say celebrate your small successes . . . sit back, have a glass of wine, and be like, 'I did that!'"

Rehab Addict fans know that Nicole is involved with every aspect of her projects, from building to designing. She loves to salvage materials and feels strongly about avoiding certain elements.

"Anyone who watches my show knows that I curse people who put wallpaper up," she said. "Removing it is a pain."

Looking for a wallet-friendly and temporary decor solution, Nicole decided to include a range of removable wallpapers in the EVINE Live line. Her wallpapers, which come in four different patterns, can be used on appliances, countertops, and bookshelves in addition to walls.

The wallpaper already has one fan: Nicole's 90-year-old grandmother. Nicole has been renovating a home that once belonged to her grandparents, and it proved to be a great testing ground. "We actually used this wallpaper as a backsplash in the guest house of the house that I am doing," Nicole said. "It's totally grandma approved."

The launch of the collection comes during an especially busy time for Nicole. She served as a cohost on the recent HGTV program Beach Flip and is renovating a storied Detroit mansion. She's also extremely hands-on when it comes to managing her social media accounts, which includes a Facebook fan page with over one million likes.

"I handle all of my social media," she said. "No one ever believes me when I say that, but I've handled it since day one. It's always my tone. It's me making a post. I am really guarded about that. It's me — I'm very open about everything."

That includes the future. "I never know what's next," she said. "I wake up every morning and it's a new adventure, because that's how I get to live my life."

One possibility would be continuing her partnership with EVINE Live, which hopes to see Nicole Curtis Home expanding with more home decorating and improvement products. For Nicole, the possibilities are endless.

"I have all sorts of interests. I work with old houses, but I also have dogs, and I'm a mom," she said.
