ok...so far i am the only one that said absolutely, but that is because my husband builds these amazing japanese teahouses and bathhouse structures...and i would love one with gold leafing.
really rustic otherwise, but with gold...in the woods. some sort of contrast that just apeals to me. i wish i knew how to insert a picture so i could show what i am talking about!
ewwww. no! and i would be so pissed if my neighbors had something like this. my dad has a teahouse in his backyard and the roof is not gold and it looks just fine (no offense).
Has to be functional. What advantages would gold leaf give? Would my house be more energy efficient? Would the snow slide off instead of build up? Prolly not. Would I have a higher likelyhood
of my house being struck by lightning? Probably! Gold is one of the best electrical conductors.
I would rather put solar panels on my roof. Now if they could make "designer" solar cells that would give the appearance of gold leaf, I would consider it. Ever heard of Nano-Solar?

1No way there has got to be better things to spend money on
2That is the weirdest look ever. No one has a house like that around here. Let's leave that for Vegas please.

4Super tacky.
5No way....too tacky. I don't like the dolls either. Give me spanish terra cotta tiles. Awesome look.

7No. The time, the money, I could see it going to something a little more useful.
8I'd like to know what it is before I make a decision, and exactly how big is it?
9oh I'm sorry I see it now - the question is if I would gold leaf my roof. the answer is only if I lived in the Taj Mahal.
10tacky!
11Nope, but I've always loved the look of copper roofs.
12Tacky.
13noooo....not my style
