Not many people grasp the concept of thinking outside the box, but architect Stephen Kanner did just that by designing a 14-unit building with odd windows in Koreatown, Los Angeles. Koreatown is a neighborhood where most apartment buildings swim in a sea of similarity. You would think a contemporary structure would be a welcoming enhancement, but to the contrary; some neighbors felt it didn't complement the area's other structures.
