Midday Muse: Subtle Split Pea

At first, I had trouble picturing how the Split Pea shade from Benjamin Moore's 2008 Color Trends Report could work on a wall. Then I saw this room by interiors stylist Jo Barnes on Desire to Inspire. The bright hue looks perfectly subtle with the leather couch and hanging frames.

I am just NOT feeling this--it looks super dated to me, and not in a retro, chic way. I want those pillows, however.

the color is gorgeous. i see the empty frames as being more of an abstract artistic statement than just empty frames. it's fun playing with random wall-hangings.

I love green on the walls. My walls in the living room and kitchen are a spanish moss type green and I have a deep red in the dining rooms. I warm it up with wood floors and terra cotta tile in the kitchen.

I still can't get over the wall color. It's not a color I would want in my house.

The color is nice but I think lighting would have to be just right to pull it off in someones home. I don't get the empty frame thing either.

I actually like this color, it might me scary looking at it from the jar but it looks good on the walls.

I just an accent wall in my living room this color. It was actually "Grape Leaves" from Behr, but it comes off as a "split pea" or avocado shade. We have a brown couch and marine blue and some yellow accents. It looks really great, retro but modern.
