Midday Muse: In Like a Lion

Artist Amy Kligman's painting "Home Base" reminds me of the phrase often used to evoke March's weather: "In like a lion, out like a lamb." I think that this comforting painting is a good reminder that no matter how rainy or messy the weather (or our lives!) might be this month, we can count on some tranquil rainbows after the storms.

That painting is cute--the little girl makes me think of Alice in Wonderland, which has always been my favorite.

I grew up on a farm and I remember flying kites in the fields next to our house during the month of March. The weather was always mild, but windy, at this time of the year. These memories of my childhood are what come to mind whenever I hear the phrase "In like a lion, out like a lamb".
