Actor Bryan Batt, known for his role as in-the-closet art director Salvatore Romano on Mad Men, has signed a deal with publisher Clarkson Potter to write a home décor book. The book, slated for release in Fall 2011, will explore his favorite interiors and "through his own witty commentary and design techniques, show readers how to create their own stylish and enchanting spaces." As you may remember, Batt and his partner Tom Cianfichi own Hazelnut, one of my favorite décor boutiques in New Orleans. This is truly exiting news; I can't wait to get my hands on a copy. Want to get a peek at Batt's design skills? Check out his carriage house in NOLA's Garden District.

Definitely exciting!
I was in New Orleans a few weeks ago and didn't make it to Hazelnut
, but it's definitely on my
list when I return there!
1Oh too bad tiabia! Magazine Street is where all the great design shops are, while the French Quarter has dozens of antique shops.
2Hey Casa! yeah, I was there for a festival so there wasn't enough time to truly look around New Orleans. I
Magazine Street...it was one of my favorite spots for boutique shopping back in undergrad!
3I love Salvatore! Thanks for confirming that his character is indeed "in the closet", I was confused by that whole thing because he is married in the show. Exciting news though I did not know he was an interior designer--mega talented!
