I'm normally of the persuasion that Todd Oldham can do no wrong. But today? Not so much. The colorful designer has now slapped his name on a collection of floral arrangements for FTD, including this Todd Oldham Ice Cream Party ($39). If I'm feeling simpatico, I suppose I might say a genuine ice cream cone could make a cute arrangement for a kid's birthday, filled with some wildflowers. But a ceramic ice cream dish? Filled with carnations (yuck!) in "vanilla" or "strawberry," and a "red cherry" carnation? Come on, Todd!

Fantasie
It's a floral arrangement, not something that you buy and put in your house, therefore I think it's adorable.
1I don't have a problem with carnations, and the concept is cute --- like those flower arrangement margaritas and martinis, but for kids --- however, it just doesn't seem well-executed for some reason.
2I like carnations like this, all bunched together so they look like ruffles. Why do people hate them so much? I think they got a bad rap as filler flowers for cheap bouquets.
3It's cute!
4I love carnations! Especially yellow ones and they last much, much longer. I think this makes a cute gift for a girl's birthday or even decoration for a b-day party or picnic. BTW, this looks better than some of the other arrangements I've seen on the FTD site.
5I have a bone to pick with you Casa! I love carnations when bunched together in the same color. In fact, dark purple carnations were my wedding bouquet!
6The ice cream cone arrangement may not that nice. But I like carnations in bunches. I tried to recreate this bouquet (http://tinyurl.com/5zh4vb) with carnations to make it more affordable, and it turned out beautiful! I'm sorry I don't have a photo of the carnation bouquet. Carnations are also great for pomander balls and not very expensive.
7I cannot justify ordering and paying for such a simple arrangement of carnations, yes, a cheap flower. Carnations do have their own virtues though.
I do think the arrangement is cute for a little girl's party.
8I love this and have become a fan of carnations BUT I wouold never pay for FTD flowers they are way overpriced.
9I would reuse the vase for lots of summer get togethers. They said the dish is food safe. I think they are very cute. I too like that carnations last longer.
