Love It or Hate It? Satellite Bowl

One of the adjectives I use to describe my taste in home décor is modern, but sometimes I just can't wrap my brain around the contemporary accessories and other home accents I see. Take this Satellite Bowl ($64), which is a circle of lacquered wooden spokes, for example. I don't think I will ever get far enough beyond my traditional décor upbringing to be able to look a bunch of sticks as a bowl—even if the MOMA Store sells it. And yes, maybe that's the point the designer is trying to make, but I just can't. What do you think?

I think it looks really cool. Either in the kitchen as a fruit bowl or on the coffee table. It would look interesting in metal as well. :smile:

It looks too much like art for my taste, but in the right place it could make an interesting conversation piece. I would get it as a gift for my artist brother.
