This 19th century Rhododendron Burl Root Bench ($4,700)
fascinates me. I think it would look incredible in a modern home, adding a big infusion of nature to a minimalist palette.

I love unusual pieces like this. In the beach towns near where I live you see a lot of this kind of furniture and they are actually very sturdy/solid.

I think my bf would love this (he's an Urban Forestry guy), but I'm undecided. It's neat, but it doesn't look very functional for $4,700.
