Love It or Hate It? Pretty (Much All) in Pink

A bedroom in designer Hervé Van der Straeten's Paris apartment, photographed by Simon Watson, is dressed almost entirely in the same hue of pink. It's probably the most masculine shade of pink I've seen — if that's possible. The bedroom looks like a place one could sleep for days, a calming retreat. But never in a million years would I consider using a single color in this way; I'm not sure how I feel about it. What about you?

I love monochromatic rooms like that! The pink may be a bit bright, but I love the idea in general. It's just so hard to do this in real life, because you'd have to buy everything from the same place to get exactly the same shade for all pieces.

I like the style, but I'm not a fan of pink. I think it would look good if it had more than just one color through out, and no pink!

I love pink, but this is overboard , it really needs some other colors( black or white or silver or all 3 ) to break it up. Not cute

Hate it. And disagree that it looks like a calming retreat. It's very boring for a designer's room.

I have a pink room, and I have been trying to change it for *ages*. I don't like this very much, it's too matchy-matchy. Pink curtains, chair AND bedding? It would be different if there were more accent colors. And the dark drawers and shelves make the curtains look washed out. If you want to use this, get a HOT pink and SEVERE black for contrast. Or skip the dark altogether and use orange, aquamarine, or even some yellow accent pieces.

I like it for a hotel room or something like that, somewhere you'd only stayed a weekend or a forthnight. In a bedroom? No way. I would go crazy within days seeing all pink (or blue, green or whatever).
