Love It or Hate It? Painted Upholstered Chair

I spotted this upholstered side chair painted with a gold cross in photographer Erik Johnson's portfolio. I think the imperfect stripes give the chair a sort of relaxed glamour that works well with the sisal rug, worn-in tables, and shabby chic sofa. It's chic but not precious. What do you say?

uhmm maybe if it was a different colour? or painted in such a way that it looked like someone didnt just slap their fuzzy cat in a tray of paint and drag it accross the chair.

not a fan at all. i don't know if it's the choice in paint?! but the chairs lovely- imo, the paint ruins a perfectly lovely chair. i like the feel of the room overall too with the lamp matching the duckegg blue of the chair
