Love It or Hate It? Graffiti Sofa

Designer Teruhiro Yanagihara's new “Graffiti” products explore the concept of “dirty” with products including this sofa. When people touch it or scratch it they leave their marks on the surface of the sofa. If you get tired of your friends tagging your sofa, you can erase the marks by ironing the cloth.

I absolutely HATE the sound of nails scratching fabric...just thinking about it hurts my ears and my brain...does anyone else know what I'm talking about? Gah, just trying to describe it is painful, but I always wondered if this was something that bothered other people...like if I was on the couch and my nail dragged across the fabric of a pillow or something, and it wouldn't necessarily be loud, and perhaps it was the mix of the faint sound mixed with the physicality of my hand scratching...I'm not sure...but yeah, no. When I first saw this couch, I first thought "stupid." And then I thought I'd ask about my scratching fabric problem. I also hate chalkboards, but fabric really grinds my gears.

I don't know. It's kinda cool, I guess, but I probably wouldn't be able to stand it. It looks like cheap faux suede or something. And besides, I know my friends and especially my cousin would spend the whole time playing with the couch and no time talking to me. lol

I hate the idea that people... even friends and family... can tag and therefore personalise YOUR property... it's fine to have Your name on Your things... but who wants their whole families scrawl all over their sofa??
