Love It or Hate It? Dixie Cup Wine Glasses

The shape of this wine glass is based on the generic shape of the Dixie cup, a form we're all familiar with. These Sommelier Wine Glasses, designed by Maxim Velokovsky, were made of borosilicate glass and each one is very slightly different, apparently to "take the form as far away from its plastic, mass-produced origins as possible."

ugh...I hate drinking wine out of plastic cups, so why have these at home, the wine wouldn't taste as good out of them :) 'cuz they look so much like plastic cups... Maybe without a stem as a water glass it would be ok...... Plus I think that in order to appreciate wine better, you gotta have a proper wine glass, specially made for certain type of wine....

I think they're fun, nice for a silly picnic or something. I also agree with some of the others that plastic ones would be a better alternative...

i think they'd be fun if they were plastic. but only as a disposable/"let's pretend we're slightly classier than we are" in a joking kind of way alternative to solo cups

LOL! What in the world?! I just had a conversation with a friend due to his annoyance of chicks pulling up to him in VIP to get a pour of his bottle service. He's nice enough to share so he asks them where's their glass and they pull out a plastic cup. He was like no no no ladies. I wonder if he would give them a pour with this plastic cup upgrade?!

These glasses are just terrible. If I wanted to drink out of something that looks like a plastic cup I'd just use a plastic cup.

Heh, I think the majority is wrong, sorry. No one is asking people to use these as their primary set of wineglasses or to break them out for a cocktail party...but I'd imagine they don't look quite so Dixie-cupish when you see the glass versions in person. And like some have said, I also think they'd be fun to use on a random movie night, for a small casual gathering of college friends, etc. Just my opinion...and this is coming from a girl who spends an entire football season in the Grove in Oxford, MS drinking wine from red and blue dixie cups. So I'm sure I'm a liiiittle biased, hah.
