Love It or Hate It? A Dark Gray Kitchen

In an Apartment Therapy house tour, I spotted this deep brownish-gray kitchen. While it certainly works with the aesthetic of the artsy, industrial loft, I don't think it would work for me! I'm too much of a color fanatic to go with a shade this dark in my kitchen. Plus, I love white kitchens! How about you?

I like it. But I think the exposed brick really helps it out. If all the walls were that color it might not work.

I like the color of wall, but I think it would look less dreary if the refrigerator and cabinets were a different color. Also, I would take everything off the front of the fridge, and that would make it look less cluttered.

it seems so dreary. reminds me of a cold rainy day & wanting to do nothing at all.

I don't think dark colors are depressing at all, I actually think they make rooms look warm & cozy and leave room for pops of bright colors with accessories, I like it!

love it but thats an interesting point about a dark kitchen not motivating one to cook. i wouldn;t know since i have a white kitchen and remain quite unmotivated to cook

I'm with PinkNC -- it's too cluttered for my taste. If there were less tschockies, it would be a big improvement.

It looks to cluttered to me. Therefore it's more depressing with the dark colors.

I love the way this looks, but like betty kraker, I am also too unorganized for it. I always think in order to pull off an artsy/industrial/modern look, you've gotta keep things very tidy and neat and packed away in the proper place. My brother has a room that's painted dark gray and he has his guitars lined up neatly on the wall. He has some very simple, modern furniture in the room. It looks awesome, but there's no way I could pull it off with my clutter heeheeI prefer my kitchen to be very bright and warm. Mine is painted with a kind of Latin feel- bright oranges, bright coral pinks, colorful plates.
