This Just In: Rachel Zoe Doesn't Style Interiors

Rachel Zoe, stylist to the stars and authoress of Style A to Zoe, is selling her 2 bedroom, 3 bath West Hollywood home, and the photos of the mid century home are less than underwhelming. You would think that the home of a fashion-forward woman like Zoe would be evidence of her creative talents, but the only word that it brings to mind is "blah." Plain vanilla walls, white and beige upholstered seating, a few nice (i.e. expensive) pieces of furniture, and the requisite animal hide rug pretty much sum up the space, which is notably minimal. It doesn't surprise me that she is selling: a creative thinker could never live there. Maybe next time she should consider hiring a stylist...

I personally love it. It's simple and clean. I'm sure that there is much more "life" in it when it's not pristinely clean and having real estate pics taken. I've seen her house before in magazines and liked it then.

wow - harsh comments. meeow casa. It's very common to tone down the styling when selling ("staging") a house. You want potential buyers to be able to imagine their OWN stuff there, and see the house not all your things. Based on the comments above, she's done this very successfully.

The house looks "staged". It's probably not even her furniture and she may have not spend much time there when she did live there.

I actually think her place looks ideal. I may not have choosen the particular pieces of furniture, but I certainly prefer that a house be simply and efficiently furnished and decorated rather than filled with a bunch of colorful, decorative stuff, which often only serves to exhibit one's tendency to overconsume in one's never-ending quest for "individuality."

She has a chapter in her new book on styling interiors, she wrote that she wanted a spare, hotel like environment to act as a bolt hole from her cluttered life, it's too derivative and souless for me too.

The interior is a bit bland but the house itself is nice. I'd love to give it a makeover.
