I wish you would have included an assymmetrical fireplace in the slide show. Mine runs two thirds the length of the wall but the fireplace is in the center. I have no idea how to decorate it.

thanks for the ideas! i think i'd like to try the all white look...maybe with a larger colored piece of artwork hung above. we'll see how it goes. i'm a bit of a minimalist and my husband is what i'd like to call a clutter-ist, so right now it's a jumble of random photos that aren't necessarily flattering for us or for the room, haha
