As an urban dweller, I don't come into contact with nature as much as I'd like. But I do have the benefit of a backyard full of birds: hummingbirds, blue jays, and all sorts of others that my amateur bird-watching skills have yet to identify.
Though bird-watching may not be the hippest hobby, there are tons of hip bird houses and bird feeders on the market right now. My favorite is probably this J Schatz Egg Bird Feeder ($125), which comes in a rainbow of colors. Here are the other great high-design bird dwellings I've found.

Love this! Would look much better than one that shows all the seeds, etc.
1OMG these are really cool. I like them very much.
2Hmm, that looks more like a bird house than a bird feeder. Also, $125 for a bird house? That's insane.
3I love this. The color is so serene and pure. The design so simple, elegant and clean.
4I got a really pretty birdfeeder a while back to replace the traditional red house one. Birds don't come by anymore.
I think they are more drawn to the other style.
5Oooh, some of those are realllly nice. I don't know if I am willing to spend that much on something I usually have to toss after a few years or that can be smashed by hail tho!!
6like heaven
7love the perch design
8That's kinda cool.
9very pretty robin blue!
10I like them very much:0
11i like these all especially the little blue one. each type attracts different birds of course so it depends what kind you want/are around.
12I love this bird feeder. My house doesn't really get birds. I hear them but they are never close enough to see.
