Have You Ever Chopped Firewood?

When I was growing up, we used a woodstove for supplemental heat. It provided a cozy spot to gather after dinner, and certainly warmed up the main rooms of the house. However, all of that wood heating meant that I had to chop and stack a lot of logs, too.

Nope, and I probably never will because I have a gas fireplace...that has never been used despite living in the freezing north.

Yes. For charity at a place that made maple syrup. I threw out my back and now have a crooked pelvis. This is not an activity that I reccomend.

My dad taught me how when I was about 12 or 13. He thought it was a useful skill, which is also why he taught me how to change my own oil & maintain my car, how to mow a lawn, how to repair sheetrock & paint walls, etc. Turns out that he was right! I'm very happy that my parents always wanted me to learn & be independent.
