Going Without Window Treatments

Would You Dare to Go Without Window Treatments?

In this Stockholm apartment, original artwork mixes with midcentury modern and craftsman era furniture. The white walls, ceiling, and light herringbone wood floor help to keep the entire look light and bright, but the real secret to the sunny interiors is simply the lack of curtains. Even though this apartment is in the middle of a bustling city, the owner has opted to favor natural sunlight over privacy.

I recently took down the wooden blinds along one wall of windows in our bedroom, and I love the way the light now streams into the room. Granted, it doesn't allow for any late sleep-ins, but given that we have a standing 6 a.m. wake-up call thanks to our toddler, late mornings aren't in the cards. Eventually, I plan on sewing custom curtains or roman shades for the windows, but for now, I have to say that I love the look of our curtain-free windows.

Would you ever go without window treatments in any rooms in your home? Why or why not?
