Glass Pavilion Modern House Pictures

Known for his minimalist modern architectural designs that cater to the Hollywood elite, Los Angeles-based architect Steve Hermann completed the Glass Pavilion, a home he's referred to as his "opus," nearly two years ago. While he originally planned on building the house for himself, he quickly placed the home on the market for a staggering $35 million. The home is built on three-and-a-half acres and features massive glass walls, five bedrooms, five-and-a-half baths, a kitchen with a wine room, and an art gallery that in photos displays Hermann's vintage car collection. Given all of these luxurious details, at its core, the Glass Pavilion is a boldly designed, minimalist modern home.

Perhaps it's a bit too modern for potential buyers who can afford the price tag. A year ago, the price of the home had dropped by $11 million to a $24 million asking price. And now, according to a listing with Sotheby's, the price of the Glass Pavilion has dropped to $15.9 million. That's nearly $20 million less than the original asking price.

While it's a truly gorgeous home, in all honesty, I prefer the original Glass Pavilion, built in 1914 by Bruno Taut. That said, this home is definitely worth a much more thorough look, if just to check out the incredibly open rooms and the all-glass bathroom!
