Having a great boss can make a so-so job seem fantastic, and having a bad boss can make a great job unbearable. That's why, this holiday season, if you've been blessed with having a smart, capable, and caring person to oversee your workplace, celebrate that individual by telling her or him thanks with a thoughtful gift. Small and simple is the recommended etiquette for giving a gift to a boss - anything else can cause a problem with fellow employees, making them feel compelled to give when they wouldn't otherwise, and anything big or overly unique can send the message that you're trying to curry favor. A flower or candies, maybe something home baked, but I'd stay away from anything over $20 unless you have an extremely close relationship with your boss and it won't cause any problems with fellow co-workers.

Well I have a good boss. So I did get him a gift but nothing that would break the bank just this lil box that has his surname as a street sign with candies in it. Cheap, personal , & candy makes him super duper happy.

I like my boss, but I'm not really close to her...I usually just get her a card and a little ornament or something.

I like the idea of giving a donation in your boss's name to a charity. It's more than a card, but not quite as brown-nosey as an expensive gift I think!

I'm just going to give a nice card. She's a good boss, but she knows I don't make as much as her sooo I'm sure she will udnerstand :)
