The Scary Reason George and Amal Are Adding a Panic Room to Their English Mansion

Newlyweds George and Amal Clooney are adding a room to their ultraprivate Berkshire, England, home — and it's not a nursery. Us Weekly reports the actor and human rights lawyer are having a panic room installed in the 17th-century English manor that they purchased in October for $12 million. The panic room is said to be fireproof, bombproof, and attack-resistant. Why the serious security? As overzealous as George's fans can be, this extreme safety measure is actually for Amal, whose high-profile clients and controversial legal cases put her at risk of harm. She most recently began representing Armenia in its fight to have the Armenian genocide recognized. This home renovation makes us think George is quite the protective husband!
