A Modern Mountain Retreat

What do you do when you want to build your dream home but can't bear to tear up the natural landscape? You find an architect who can help you create that home while maintaining the natural look of the property. That's exactly what Feldman Architecture's clients took into consideration with the design of House Ocho, a modern 3,000-square-foot home situated in central California's Santa Lucia Mountains.

Surrounded by meadows, oak forests, and native grasses, House Ocho almost seems to disappear into the landscape. To further mask the home's impact on the natural environment, the structure is divided into a series of pavilions. The home's sprawling terrace creates an outdoor living space, while wide doors cultivate a feeling of spaciousness. Due to the home's southeast exposure, natural light is maximized in the home's design. Take the full tour of the home!
