Does DIY Create Trouble on the Homefront?

DIY in my house means do it yourself . . . with a tiny bit of help. I create, plan, and carry out the projects around the house, but sometimes I dream too big and must reluctantly call my husband for reinforcement. He and I were made for each other, but we weren't meant to work on home projects together; it's very rare that we finish a task without biting each other's head off. Then when the job is complete, we have a good laugh about how horrible we are at working side by side. I can't be alone here — does tackling projects around the house put you and your significant other at odds?

My hubby is super handy... but not detail oriented like I am. We have learned to complement our work, he is more careful and I am not a A.R.

Other -- I'm about to find out. We're undergoing our first project soon; sanding and painting some old dressers for our new nursery. Fingers crossed that we'll get through it ok!

i love crafting and am an introvert, so i recharge alone, so i'll DIY with my husband in the room, but by myself (unless i need him to do a manly task...like hold something heavy)

we're learning together, and we do it while having fun..we don't really fight when doing stuff around the house

Depends.. some things we work well on, others we don't. I tend to get frustrated a lot, and instead of just internalizing it, I express it - then he things it's a criticim of him.. and he does the same.. But if it's a fun project like painting the house, or rearranging a room, then it goes well.
