Do You Like Getting Catalogs?

What's Your Opinion of Home Décor Catalogs?

I can devour endless servings of home décor eye candy, though I'm partial to shelter mags. When it comes to catalogs from home retailers, I'd rather just shop online.

I find it so much easier to search the retailers' websites or ShopStyle. Plus, as someone who is very eco-minded, I hate to waste paper, and some catalog lists I've been on seem to send a new issue every two weeks! How about you?

Love them. Interior design is one of my passions. I enjoy expressing our lifestyle and sense of style in our home. Right now, I'm expanding to the outdoors (gardening, deck, etc). Love it.

i like that home doesn't look like a catalog, but i love getting them in the mail (even though its not very eco-friendly)! i like to flag items i think are cute or cool, and they can inspire ideas for rooms. and ive made modge podge projects out of the cooler ones...

I work at a computer all day long. My eyes are burning by the time I get home. I still enjoy just flipping through a catalog. Plus, I can tear out the pages I like and not have to create a digital portfolio for every little inspiration I find on the web.

Personally I strive to make my home look like something that's NOT out of a catalog. While I have nothing against Pottery Barn, Crate & Barrel, etc. there are tons of knock-offs out there, and I don't think it shows much taste, creativity, talent, etc. to make your house look like something out of these catalogs. To me when someone has a "catalog" looking home it's not impressive- but I know a lot of people love them and use as guidelines/inspiration for their home and while I may admire a piece here and there I am not looking to recreate a catalog look in my home.
