Do You Have an Upholstered Headboard?

Metal or wooden headboards are often more timeless and versatile than upholstered ones, which is a plus if you've invested in your furniture. But, upholstered headboards are much more comfortable and ideal for those of you who like to read in bed. I love this sunny yellow floral headboard, but I might tire of the pattern quickly. I'd prefer to own a headboard with a solid fabric, or a more subtle print. Do you own one?

ella1978, go here: http://www.bejane.com/headboard. But yes, you need a piece of plywood (cut for free at home depot or lowes), a matching piece of foam, cotton batting and whatever fabric you want, and a staple gun. The website explains it all, including how to tuft it if you want that look.

dm8bri, how did you do that. Did you just make a frame, staple on some bat then upolster it? I've been thinking about it, since the headboard that matches my wood frame is 400 dollars and change with shipping. This would at least keep our pillows from sliding down behind our mattress and because we have a chimney behind that wall, we can't have art on the wall there, so it would add visual interest too!

Don't have one... I LOVE the one in this picture though... I have a huge painting of a zebra above my bed... i think only a plain black headboard would work with it... my entire bedroom is black and zebra print... has been for almost 3 years, maybe I need a make over? Anyone wanna fund it? lol.

i don't have a headboard but i do really want them i think they're lovely and make a bed look so much better!!sometimes they just look so unfinished without one. i just arrange my pillows and cushions for false effect :)

Not anymore but I did have one in the past that I made. Now we have a wooden headboard.

I don't have one at all, I've never had one :) But I would like to dress up my bedroom soon. I've been thinking about making one with a painting on muslin material. I just haven't had the passion to paint lately.

Yes! I made my own just a few weeks ago and I LOVE it. It's really easy to do and cheaper than buying one pre-made.
