Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Zooey Deschanel's characters in (500) Days of Summer found their patterned pillowcases to be quite smoochworthy, as you can see. Me? I've always been a white linen kind of gal. How about you?

after much experimenting, I have discovered that what I really like is solid sheets and patterned pillowcases. I get bored with pattern on my sheets but pillowcases are much less of a commitment!

2Actually, I have THOSE patterned pillow cases, or at least a very similar print from Ikea.
3whirlygirly - i am exactly the same way! back when i was a senior in college i had the most amazing bed... it was just a futon but i put a huge fluffy featherbed on it, white sheets, a white cotton down comforter, and like 6 or 7 pillows in different but coordinating cases (some were my grandmothers, some from HomeGoods) and it was like sleeping on a puffy cloud with some quirkiness and punch from the pillow cases...i should really recreate that again.... and hanging from the ceiling above my bed i constructed this frame with chicken wire and christmas lights on it (I saw it n Trading Spaces and had to try- or rather make my dad create it for me) - it sounds silly but it was just really cool, esp. on a college student budget! my night table next to the low futon was an overturned galvanized wash tub and my dad made a wooden circle that fit in it. I think senior year was just about when I realized that I wanted to be an interior designer
