Do You Have Neutral Living Room Walls?

Since I'll soon be integrating my new purple chairs into my living room, I'm thinking it's time to say goodbye to my peacock blue walls and paint the room a neutral color, like a soft gray. In the past, I have had some living rooms with white or off-white walls, but I must admit I've felt a little bored by them. I think gray will be a little more interesting, but I'm worried that neutral walls won't suit me; I'm such a color enthusiast. Do you have neutral living room walls?

My walls are almost orange and I feel my decorating options are limited. I'm ready for a more neutral color.

I say keep it neutral, I LOVE color in this is actually why I keep the walls light in our living room, this way I can switch up the colors whenever I get bored...just by switching sofa cushions, paintings etc... and I don't have to repaint everything which I had to do in the past. Plus, colors just pop against a lighter, neutral background!

Try Balanced Beige from Sherwin Williams. It's a sexy neutral. Everyone loves it!

I'm a renter, but luckily my apartment's neutral walls aren't white! They are a lovely soft cocoa shade, with white trim. It wouldn't be my first choice, but after years of apartments painted "crappy apartment white" and one, very memorably, painted "Forest Service vehicle green," the cocoa is very welcome.

Renter with the same problem. I hate my white walls...Even with all of my framed pictures and art on the walls, I just can't seem to make it look like a home.

The most stunning color I've had on my LR/DR/Entry walls in my long (74 years) life was/is a med. earth color. (I've also seen this color, by Tufftex carpet and at least one fabric mfr., called "rye".) The orig. paint was Dutch Boy's "Dark Earth", which I lightened w/~a cup of white to the gallon. It is a totally "dead" color--nothing but black & brown tinting colors, and the room should have plenty of handsome white woodwork. But you have never seen the colors in your paintings/greenery/upholstery/ rugs leap to life as they do against these total-absence-of-color walls. They GLOW.
