Even though we buy candy, put out a jack-o'-lantern, and turn on the porch lights, we've only received a few trick-or-treaters in the past four years at our home. It could be because we have a gate leading up to our walk, and even though we prop it open, it still might intimidate the kids. How about at your house?

Yup. We probably get 70-90 kids depending on the weather. Got lots of candy ready for Saturday. We have a couple of our friends over to help us set the "mood", then we have a party afterwards. Fun times!
1When we lived in the suburbs (Chicago) we used to get 300+ on Hallowe'en. Cripes, we even had people dropping their kids (not from our neighborhood, which certainly had plenty of kids of our own) off and then cruise down the street following them. Like the $100 or more I spent wasn't already enough.
Now I live just outside a small town on a street with only four houses, and my 18 year old is the youngest kid here. So now I get none! I do miss seeing all the kids, though.
2We're not overrun, but we live in a townhouse and there are lots of young families in our complex so we get quite a few. Our next door neighbours go all-out with their decorations so I think that helps draw kids our way too
3Nope, I've never gotten a single one as long as I've lived in my part of the city.
4We live in an area of town that has a ton of kids, but due to religious reasons they do not Trick or Treat. I wish people did Trick or Treat in my neighborhood, because my baby is getting old enough to go and nobody around here will be prepared!
5This is my Halloween at our new place, but it's an apartment complex, so I doubt it.
6My townhouse complex is too close to the business/commerce section of downtown so no kids trick or treat near us. It's sad because I have never given out candy and I think it would be kind of fun.
7I live in an apartment complex where there's mostly single people. Sometimes I go to my sister's place & she lives in a neighborhood where they get a ton of tick-or-treaters!
